As a Foundation, we are the dedicated social-impact arm of the Co-operative Bank of Kenya. Our work centres on collaborative and sustainable initiatives based on shared value, with a strong focus on Education, Youth and Women’s Empowerment, as well as strategic interventions in Agriculture, the Environment, and Health. Since our inception, we have earned the trust of communities and partners alike through programs designed to unlock potential, inspire change, and build thriving, resilient communities.

Our journey began in 2007, when we were established as a registered trust to positively impact the lives of children within the Co-operative movement. Guided by the Bank’s strategic objectives, we implement programs that strengthen both economic and social investment in local communities, delivering sustainable solutions that create shared value.

All our initiatives are structured around five thematic pillars, which guide the implementation of our current program and shape the development of future collaborative efforts.

Our programs empower our beneficiaries by equipping them with the knowledge, skills, tools, and capacity needed to build confidence, overcome barriers and achieve sustainable success—teaching them how to fish rather than simply providing short-term solutions.

While we remain committed to increasing access to education for the children in the cooperative movement, our work also has a special focus on strengthening community organisations to achieve greater economic and environmental impact based on sustainable models and practices that safeguard the environment.

From the beginning, we have appreciated the value of partnerships. It is through joint efforts that we have improved the well-being and resilience of communities across Kenya. By working together with partner organisations, we have harnessed the strength of collective effort and used it as a catalyst to drive our mission of investing in our local communities for improved quality of life.
